Question
I’m trying to move an antique dresser by myself. It’s not extremely large but it is heavy. I need to move it from one bedrrom to another on the same floor. I saw furniture sliders at a store once and never thought I might end up needing them. Should I look for it and buy those? I’m not sure I can do it by myself anyway. Thanks for your help.
Answer
You could rent a dolly from any storage facility. It’s safer and easier than inserting sliders and less chances are of damaging the furniture, the carpet or the floor. If it’s not a large dresser, a hand truck might do as well. Getting someone to help you is always a good idea. Make sure to lift the furniture rather than drag it, to avoid damage.
